Anna Zinkeisen (1901-1976) was a portrait painter and a muralist, creating murals for the ocean liners Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth. She later specialized in pathological and clinical drawing and worked in the casualty ward in St. Mary’s Hospital in London during the horrors of World War II. She often painted in a disused operating theater there.
Self-portrait, 1944.
