“After my proper New England education, I worked with several foreign governments at the United Nations, naïve in thinking I could lend a helping hand in the Middle East. Neither Jewish nor Arab, and armed with only a handful of dirty words in Arabic (taught to me by a randy North African Ambassador), I left behind my international affaires and instead, dove into the world of fine wine. For more than 15 years, I have worked as a Sommelier and wine advisor, all the while exploring the world’s wine regions. Along with various hunks of cured meats and unpasteurized cheeses hidden away in my baggage, I never returned home without unusual pieces of art and antiques devoted to all things gastronomic. Heritage Culinary Artifacts is the repository of these finds – and a wonderful excuse for me to continue to travel and return with interesting booty and tales from the table.”
